Current value of a CB650 cam?
« on: July 15, 2010, 01:19:26 PM »
I'm waffling on whether I want to bother getting a CB650 cam to hot up my CB500.  What price range is acceptable?  Can anyone with the 650 cam swap on a 500 say whether it was worth it*?

* "Worth it" includes the price and imaginary price of labor, because if I were replacing that I'd probably just rebuild the whole mess and be without a bike for how long...

Meh, going to buy it, if it sits around and I don't install it it'll probably only go up in value anyway.

I got one off ebay 2 weeks ago including cam sprocket for $52 with shipping. I'll emory cloth the bearing journals for peace of mind even though they don't really need it

Why Emory cloth the journals?
Especially if they don't need it.
