The Breakdown:
Ignition suddenly isn't making contact (lights are not lighting when key is turned to On).
Reason: Corrosion inside of Ingnition switch (white connector under tach and speedometer and Ignition cluster, behind headlamp).
Fix: Take off headlamp unless you can work around it. With screwdriver push in tabs along round white ignition switch and pull from back of metal ignition. Unplug from connection. With tiny screwdriver pry open swith body. Inside you'll find springs and little ramps as well as round copper leads that the switch directs to depending on what position your key is in. The Problem I had: A copper lead had accreted a chunk of corrosion on it that prevented the copper leads from meeeting. The Solution: Scrub that biyatch free of gunk and reassable switch. Put back together. Ride home smiling.
