Last sand cast engine serial number was 7414. Many ways to tell but that's by far the easiest.

hmmm, just learned something new. I don't really like the things he did with the black paint on the front end, or the seat, or the wind screen  ;D haha.

The clamps are from West marine. They're stainless and what I've been using for a while. They are about 1.20 in that size. Are you close to West Marine boat shop?

AND 7500 is a LOT for a hacked up K0.

I saw that one also.  Looks nice but a steep price for that bike.

Everything from Bent Bike is overpriced & they pay next to nothing for the complete bikes they sell.

Im sandcast ignorant for the most part. For you guys saying it's not a sandcast, is that because the engine is not? I was under the impression that all 1969 K0 CB750's were sandcast models?

What these "afficianado's" are trying to say, is that any CB750 with a serial number higher than 7414 is NOT a snadcast.  Sandcast bikes have alot of parts that were only used on them.  smooth oil liter covers, 4 throttle cables, etc.  That is why I always call them prototype bieks, as Honda was kinda trying to find there way at first.

To the guys that love them, hats off to ya.....if I had one, I'd sell it and cash in the money....but that's just me.

I think a die cast K0 or "factory 1" K1 is the best (of the CB750 SOHC's)

then again, I am into cafe racers. :-\

Yep, that's one of the last of the K0's, but it's been in the wars as it's fitted with a K1 front end, not uncommon though, my January 1970 model was more K1 than K0 when I bought it, for $3000.00 US. Still, a good restored diecast K0 will go for as much as 12 or 13 thousand bucks here in oz, so if it was only 2500, I'd buy it! Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Do the sandcast models have "wrinkle tanks", too?

I saw the 5/70 tag on the vin, that could actually be a 70 or 71?
My 550 was manufactured in 73 and is titled as a 75.

I'm new to the whole sandcast thing as well. I know it was the technique used to cast the motor, but other than that fact and that they sell for insane amounts of money, I am clueless too.

BTW I bought a 1985 sandcast a few weeks back, 6600 original miles, pretty mint condition, can I get 30K?  ;D

The sandcast K0's and early diecast K0's had wrinkle tanks, but one built as late as that one probably didn't. Cheers, Terry. ;D

Sandcast folks have their own special site call sandcast only (http://www.cb750sandcastonly.com/links.htm ) You can find out anything you want about sand casts there. I think it costs twenty dollar per visit ;D

loose the windshield, big mirrors, and that seat, i think it would be a sharp looking bike. as it sits it would sell for 1800-2200 here in nh.
