Topic: Clutch removal tool

According to my Clymers, to remove the clutch on my 1983 CB550SC, I need a clutch removal tool, also called a grabbit, which I can buy from Joe Bolger products (which doesn't seem to exist any longer). The tool number is 969103.

I can't find this tool anywhere. Do I need a specific model? Or is there a general purpose tool that I can use?

if it's the type with the indents in it. just use a dremel on the right sized socket. for the 650 a 15/16 did the trick

Those are readily available on eBay and all MC tool suppliers. But price matters. Don't cheap out you'll get a soft one where the tabs flare out before your get the nut to turn.

i suggest the black (which usually means its hardened) more expensive ones, still around $12-$20 i think, to get the job done and have it live to the next battle.

The general purpose tool is a hammer and a punch. Works, but buggers up the nut.

Nope, it looks like the one on the link below, just a tad different.  They are all in the UK for more than I am willing to spend.  The part number listed in the first post is what I was looking for.  Searching that part number on Google brought me to this thread actually.

Also what you do is put that tool on the end of your hand impact driver...two taps and your in!
