Looking for a CB550
« on: August 14, 2010, 09:51:08 pm »
Hi,

I've been looking at getting myself a CB550, but I'm having a huge amount of trouble finding one for a reasonable price.
I'm after a complete bike, preferably running etc...

I want to build one into a bit of a cafe racer, but I can't spend a big chunk of money for a bike im going to tear down.

I'm in Melb, and I can't seem to find one for less than $4000, Is this a normal price?
I've got a 1984 CB250 with reg and rwc which I may sell or trade if any one is interested

If anyone has any information on where I could look for one it would be greatly appreciated

thanks

Thanks Michael

That looks like a good place for some stuff later on.

What sort of price should I be looking at spending for the bike itself?
I am after a complete running bike so begin with, I just feel that $4000 is a big outlay to begin with.

Were they not so common in Australia? because I've been finding many ads from America selling the type of bike I'm after for $200 to $1000....

Thanks again

-Liam

heaps more of all the models were sold in the states,as well as other makes, they are cheaper by far so to speak over there,a good goer here is 2-3 grand, needing cosmetics, not that you want to but for example a much later bike can be had for less.,cheers.
