Polishing handelbar switch assy....
« on: August 26, 2010, 05:24:30 PM »
Are the bar switch assemblies on the '74 CB750K good aluminium or some other alloy. I'm thinking of polishing mine on the Tracy project. Anybody got pictures of polished ones?

No clear coat on the side engine covers either. I wanted to be able to touch them up anytime I wanted.

Yeah per domer and johnie, many talk about it but few clear them. Getting that old nasty clear off is a big reason they get polished in the first place. Putting more on only means it will need to be removed once again at some time.

Most incl me just buff off the oxidation occasionally. I think some Mothers or Semichrome works fine and may leave a protective film, I don't know.
