Some progress. You might recall I cut the factory kickstand off because it interfered with the exhaust system (frame mockup F vs K frame). Got the new one on today.

Very happy with the look and how it matches the line of pipe #4.

with that kick stand in the summer watch out for placing your bike in Asphalt parking lots or driveways you will need to carry a plate to spread the bikes weight  before it sinks into the pavement and your bike falls over. the tank badge/logo is very nicely done and the paint scheme is classy.

This looks very fun. I have looked into getting that honda script emblem. I just need to figure out a nicer tank to put it on.

Never liked bar end mirrors that much. Always wound up getting a view of my elbows, so I adapted some hotrod peekaboo mirrors:

Yes, doing lots of little things while trying to avoid the headlight bucket wiring matter. But it's back from paint so I'm headed there now.

Thanks for all the positive feedback, it keeps me focused on getting it done . . . my way.

I saw them on eBay put on the backbone of what looks like 70cc size scooter which is how I originally posted them. Then someone pointed out that they were used on a 60s (I think) Honda two door convertible.
If I had one complaint they are awfully long and are held on by the sponge filled two sided tape. They really need to be mounted to about as flat a surface as you can find. When I first put them on I had the front edge trace a bit of the front tank curve - too much for the adhesive to stick. I was planning to reapply some adhesive but I took them off because I had the bodywork striped and cleared again, so I have to put them back on.

Great build.   I'll agree with everybody else.  Very classy.  Love the tank badges & color scheme.   Doesn't really "need" a pinstripe - looks good already.
You could always try some pinstripe tape that you can get cheap at the autoparts store to see what the color would look like before you actually put the
brush to it.

Are those bicycle handlebar/stem clamps that are holding those rearsets on ?   clever.
Yep, I'm the kid that figured out how to put things back together...eventually.

Again, you guys are great.
The paint was planned to be a silver flake base with a gradated darkening to black for the bottom edges. I had planned to go without striping but maybe my experience with other builds just says there gotta be pinstripes between areas of high contrast. I followed your idea, played around with cheap striping tape. First inclination was to use red or gold or silver but that almost seemed overdone. Finally settled on a light gray that in some places almost disappears into the silver of the base coat. Sanded, taped and put a couple of coats of clear overtop. For me, the paint is done.

with my Jesus taillight:

Really defines the seat form and pad:

Happy how it shapes the knee cutout:

Just makes the tank a bit longer looking:

You are right in that I did use bike stem clamps for the clip ons. Actually found the idea form an earlier thread on this board. I tried several different configurations but never found something comfortable and if I did, they interfered with swingarm clearance. Finally bought a set from Fast From The Past which just bolt on, no big issues. Might be seen as a cop out but Ihave to move forward with this.

Hope to have internal throttle setup pix up in a day or two.

Here's a question to you guys . . . which grips do you like better?:

Super 60's bike grips:

Vespa repop grips:

Metalflake grips to match the paint:

Once again, if one of the mods here can move this to the build section, it might be a better place for this thread.

I gotta ask, why you left the front master cylinder, out in the open, rather than under the headlight or tucked under the tank?

VERY nice job on the paint. Love the tail light. I personally like the super bike grips better. It is a personal taste, feel sort of thing. You may have to get the ones that appeal to you most and go with those and change them out if they don't work for you.

These are the ones I used see image below, however I know some here love the 60's style..
