AnYone into CT70s?
« on: September 06, 2010, 05:13:19 AM »
Had a CT70K0 (12/69) fall into my lap yesterday. Front end bent so hard it kinked the frame. Includes (2/70) matching frame and front end. Runs excellent.  $300 firm. Any thoughts? ???

not a bad find. I just had a chance to pick up a mint 1 for 300 bucks 2 weeks ago but i left it sitting there and bought another bike instead. They are awesome little toys to mess around with and definately a conversation piece from what i have seen with the 1 i was looking at. But 300 even for 1 that needs work is a good deal because they are getting pretty hard to find,

My Mom bought me a CT70 or what some people call a Mini Trail 70 in 1969 or 1970 and this was my first Honda. Tough little bike that you couldn't tear up. Had alot of fun on it growing up. These little 70's are kinda rare today and I've seen some bring quite a bid of money. I think new in 1970 my CT sold for around $400. I ended up trading it in on a new 1971 Honda SL 175.

Yea they had the CT70 trail and street version believe it or not. The 1 i was looking at was a trail version but they are all setup for blinkers just like the street model

Yep. I have a K0 '70. Candy Rudy Red.

I'm in the process of rebuilding the engine. Should have it running this weekend if I actually order the parts today.

Fun little bikes. I love the idea of no clutch. It makes things so simple. You can get them with clutches (H models), but no clutch makes it feel like a toy.

It's a blast to cruise around the city on.

OH YEAH! great bikes - best campground cruiser ever. lots of parts still available. dratv.com. that's an early production date - is the vin tag printed with a black background or black printing with a silver background? (aka silvertag) I've only recently heard of this distinction, but hey sandcast 750 had to start somewhere. sounds like a great score
... and then the concussion hit!

Both frames have a silver tag. Whats does that mean?
