Find an old wrecked bike same color and hide it in the woods, do a "tune-up" on hers and take it for a test ride..while you're out have someone lay a black eye and a bunch of cuts and scrapes on ya, maybe bust an arm or a leg, go back home with the wrecked bike and tell her you were in a terrible accident and get some sympathy.. and just keep your "new" bike in the woods..  ;D

shouldn't this be in the "Anything Political"..oh..sorry.... ;D

Sounds to me like she's got your balls in a vice man. It's pretty clear who's wearing the pants in your relationship. Maybe you could put on some pants and stand up for yourself instead of listening to everything she tells you to do.

It's your life, if she's controlling it you're doing something wrong.

Let's say she does give in and gives you the bike, now she has something that she hold over your head if you're ever a bad boy and threaten to take it back or what ever. Let her sell the bike and go buy your own to fix up.

I'll be taking volunteers for this project.  I'll need some guy to beat the crap out of me.230........
CH, you've got a really complicated relationship.  You can't have the bike for free because it's hers and you're not married so you don't share possessions in general but you can't buy it from her because then she'll say that your money should go into fixing the house which you share?
Sigh.  If only it was that simple......
"Sure, if you don't want that bike in your backyard, I guess I'll take it."  "I'll probably just scrap it......"

This is REALLY simple. Just ask her to marry you, then it's all yours.

Then PM Terry for advice on how to deal with the marriage situation, I'm sure he has a few more ideas...

You should have traded her the 400 for the 500 instead of giving her the 400 [You must of had a weak moment?]

If she is actively trying to sell the 550, the only way you'll get it is to give her what it's worth [forget all the work you did - you already gave that away - so you'll get no discount on the price]. You know how women's minds work when money is involved! [This likely is why she wont sell you the bike - you want a big discount for your labor - it ain't gonna happen!

If she isn't actively trying to sell it, let it go. You're just gonna agrivate the situation and the GF. Just wait til it's for sale.

Maybe she'll let you ride it once in a while [?].

It appears she has things pretty well figured out and like she wants 'em. You're too far into this thing to let a 550 mess up your deal. Cool it. Make her mad and you could wind up in court trying to prove you're supposed to own half the house. She'll get the house and the 550 and the judge will give you the payment book on the house. Women always win in court.

You ain't gonna win this one - just don't "rock the boat".

I say you let it go man and then go out and buy your own bike and fix it up.  It was a gift there it stays, if she needs the cash for her kids school or whatever I'm sure its worth it.  If you two are that close I would think she knows what it means to you.

He can't buy it from her cause he should be spending that extra money on her "their"  house. Come on guys lets get that clear!
I say sell the bike for as much as you can get and watch that every penny gets spent on a #$%*ing window and then some.

Good luck, you made your bed now just give up. :'(

I think Cuppy makes all the beds, and does the dishes, vacuuming, cleans the toilet, dusts the furniture, etc etc..........  ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Actually me thinks he doth protest too much! ;D
Let's look at the facts here, he has a relationship with a female who is a SOHC4 mechanic (5000 bonus points) he has a shed full of bikes already (3 gillion bonus points) his relationship is fine apart from his feelings of insecurity (1 point).
Who said marry her? I second the motion.

Yeah, but you've missed one important fact Hushy, SHE wears the pants! He doesn't get to ride her bikes, he just helps her fix them, and she wants to sell a bike he fixed up for her, even though she knows he wants it, and he even gave her a 400F. Mate, she's gotta die, there's no other way.............  ;D

Just taking a wild stab here.

She wants / allows you to build her bikes.  She then doesn't actually ride the bikes but sells them for profit.  The profit is then put back into the house you own together in the form of a picture window.

Here's my opinion.  She doesn't like bikes (really).  You like bikes and like to work on / build them which takes money and time away from her.  She doesn't really want you to build her a bike but you really want to.  She knows in the end the bike will be worth something.  She can sell the bike and use the money for a new window which is what she really wants from you.  Therefore she accepts the motorcycles.  Did she ask you to build her a bike or was it your idea?  What you really need is some open communication.  Tell her that you are upset about selling the bikes and ask her if she ever wanted them in the first place.  See where that conversation leads.

Jesus Terry.  Your just #$%*ing hilarious!   I do get to ride her bikes if I want to.  I had her Ducati out today for a great rip.  I went out with my pals today all day; one of whom is from the other side of the country.  Since he didn't have a bike, she lent him hers.  She's not all that bad.  Sure she's a woman and that means that she is made from Satan's tailfeathers, but she's not all that bad to make me want to kill over a vintage Honda.  I just want to make her think that she should give me the bike.

As far as her using me to build bikes for her to profit from, that's not the case either.  I built this 550 because I was unemployed and we had all of the parts.  The 400 I bought for her since it was a replica of her first bike.  I actually bought her another 400 but I took it back because it was too cool.  I bought hers a few months later and built it for her.  She didn't have any money at the time and it was winter and, well, we do what we do because we want to do what we do.  There's no other reason to rebuild bikes.
She's not looking to profit from my work.  She sees a source for cash that has just been sitting and she want to make it work for her.  I just want the goddamn bike!

Practical, I've never been accused of being practical by any of my 3 wives  ;D

You tend to learn new lessons as you proceed down the ladder of life wives  ;)

But it gets to a certain point where you have to ________  (fill in the blanks guys)  8)

I might put "be devious" in there or ______  (that would be too nicely out of character for me)

Building bikes ain't a bad thing. Cupcake, I'm 59, been #$%* on during those wonderful years and married 3 times but I will not put up with the BS and I won't tolerate their games. That's where I'm coming from. Too many women think that furry (well they used to be) little animal calls the shots. That's why I mentioned "get some strange, they all have one". I've been known to ask them "what's so special about your's? All of you have one!" Strange will can make the big head think straight. I guess I should maybe apologize for leading down the path to unrighteousness. I just don't think it would work in your case. Good luck but I will be looking in as this is fun.

"My wife knows my 75 750F has been around MUCH longer than she has and understands this"

Bob, well, she's still Bob. (Bob aka Stacy is #3 - long story that has to do with another one of her fukups - scuba diving) You've heard the stories. Nothing has changed. I think I told you the story about her deciding to take the riding class. Ended up on the junior bike and on top of her 3 times in the class and they still passed her. I asked her who she planned on riding with!! AND I think she thought she could ride one of my bikes or I'd buy her one! Sorry, not this boy. I have to answer to our wonderful daughter and I didn't want to try to explain why I let her mother kill herself. Biggest joke since wife #2.

Thanks for asking. Still married (see mention of daughter) We're heading out for the Biketoberfest/Key West ride 10/6. There's still time for you to joing us.

ps CC - I didn't ask if I could go. I just let her know what our plans were. Derek will vouch for my madness.
