Topic: taillight

 hi all tried searching but could not find anything

got a new taillight it came without wires or the bit where the bulb sits finding it impossible to take the old one apart to get wires and bulb seat out anyone any ideas seat i mean the brown bit with the 2 bits of solder (very technical arent i )will probaly feel real stupid if its easy to do thanks

Just go to an autoparts store and buy a new socket for an 1157 bulb, that should fix you up.

The brown bit would be the bulb contact insulator that has the 2 bulb contacts on it, right?
I don't think it's 'sposed to come out...... try to get some slack on the 2 wires and it should move forward as it has a spring behind it.... how's everyone in 'Stab City' ?

P.S....... Is that an ex-cop CB500 ??

ya spanner a cb500p (irish) working too long it making a burst on it at the mo we have moved on from the blades down here but not up to speed as our west brit cousins

Usually the bulb socket complete is in a softish rubber anti-vibration rubber casing with sort-of teeth molded in, it should pull right out of the housing. Just disconnect any ground wire and try working the whole assembly out. Pouring warm/hot water on it will help loosen and lubricate it.
The brown bit with the two blob contacts and wires is keyed against rotation, for the tail light dual filament bulb. It may not come out easily like the single contact type.
