Topic: In lieu of bike jack, I used a skateboard

The other day my tire went flat, I knew it was gonna happen sooner or later. As I was mounting the new tire, I realized my chain was bad. I didn't quite have the money to spend $100+ on a new one from the local dealer, so I turned to good ol' ebay. I was learly at first buying a chain that I wasn't sure was gonna fit. I got it for $67.00. Only problem was that it didn't have a master link.

So I opted to take the swing arm off, rear shock off, etc. I found that wedging a skateboard underneath the rear wheel helped me manuver the swing arm into the positions that I needed so that I could place the new chain on.

End result was that it was a success!

Very clever. I usually just pull the rear axle to sneak the chain on that way.

The whole tire/chain thing was something I wanted to accomplish myself without having to phone a friend. Sometimes I end up doing things the hard way, but at least they get done.
