Hello from Texas

Hi
My name is Arnie and I live west of San Antonio out HWY90. I did a little horse trading with a friend of mine for a 1976 CB550. I've had a few bikes over the years but nothing like this classic. My goal is to clean it up, make it safe, and enjoy it. It is a little rough, could use a new iginition since somebody put an on/off switch where I'm guesing the key used to go, but it seems to be generally all there in it's stock form.
I've found the owners manual and factory service manual online and look forward to poking through this site to learn how to clean this up and make it run. I believe it's a K2 based on the serial number. I'll be picking up the side covers, extra carbs, and some other tidbits today. I'll also be getting a picture of the original owner and the bike as it was brand new back in the day. I'll post that later.
Here are a few pics of my new to me Honda. It has 32,000 miles on it.

Howdy!
Good score. It looks mostly complete. I hope there's no hidden surprises!

Hello from TX! I also have a 550 that I am restoring, but mine is an "F". There are a lot of parts available, you should have no trouble finding some reasonably priced [there are two 550's being parted out on this forum]
good luck!

I washed it and drained the fuel today. Also found a broken plug wire that seems to be hardwired into the coil. I'll mess with it later.
First step is to make sure the tank is clean.
This will be fun to work on a little here and a little ther.....
