Colour codes

Reading the partlist to different bikes, you will find that coloured parts have two letters in the end of the part number. I know which colour some of the code have, but only a few of them. Have anybody a Honda "translation list" code versus colour?

Secondly, are these codes consistent, so the code on one bike is the same on another with the same colour?

This paint color code list is not official as it was put together from researching my old CB750 Honda published parts books from the US, European and Japanese market bikes that were sold to the general public.

Disclaimer: There may have been more colors produced that I don’t have a reference for.  

CB750 to K5:
AZ- Candy blue green
CM- Candy ruby red                                      
CQ- Candy gold
DM- Sunny gold metallic
EE- Candy garnet brown
EF- Valley green metallic
EG- Polynesian blue metallic
LU- Brier brown metallic
LV- Flake sunrise orange
LX- Candy gold custom
LY- Candy Bacchus olive custom
MV- Planet blue metallic
NQ- Silver metallic custom
PC- Astro purple metallic
QQ- Maxim brown metallic
TC- Freedom green metallic
TD- Boss maroon metallic
UE- Flake apricot red
UF- Armor silver metallic

CB750 K6:
ZA-Flake sapphire blue
ZB-Candy Antares red
ZC-Flake sunrise orange
ZD-Candy sapphire blue

The 69-74 CB750K Japanese market bikes:
AZ-Candy blue green (KO, K1)
CM-Candy ruby red (K0, K1)                      
CQ-Candy gold (K0, K1)
DM-Sunny gold metallic (?)
EE-Candy garnet brown (K1)
EF-Valley green metallic (K1)
EG-Polynesian blue metallic (K1)
LU-Brier brown metallic (K2)
LV-Flake sunrise orange (K4)
LX-Candy gold custom (K2)
NQ-Silver metallic custom (K2)
PC-Astro purple metallic (K2)                                  
TC-Freedom green metallic (K4)
TD-Boss maroon metallic (K4)
UF-Armor silver metallic (K4)

The K3 was not released to the Japanese market.

Thanks, that was quite a few codes. Anyone able to fill in more for other then the CB 750 models? CB 350/500/550......others???

PB-3C-C       Candy sapphire blue

Ask me nicely and i might scan the Honda bulletin listing all the colours on all models up to 74
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).

Remember "Its always in the last place you look" COURSE IT IS YOU STOP LOOKIN THEN!
