No start on a 72 Cb350g k5 with mikuni vm32 Need Help
« on: September 30, 2010, 10:33:14 AM »
Hi Guys, I own a 72 cb350g k5 twin. I have no start right now, but crank.

Here what i did:

Change the a set of mikuni vm32 carbs with new cable. Had to reorder the needle jet was (159-q6 now is a 159-p5)

The carb cable on it is loose (not set yet)

Cancel my high beam, speedometer indictator bulbs (unplug it).

Updated on the tachmeter gauge to the cl350 (w/ 2 indictator in the gauge)

The idle screw i have at 1-1/2"turn

Check the carb slide is fully down

Took the carb off and checked, i see gas inside the head (gas going in).

Check the Spark Plug (wet and black) (ground the plug there was spark) (getting new ones)

The Gaps on the Valves and the Dist was not touch.

The bike started before. When it had the reg carb Ran Fine except the carb needed adjustment (reg carb)

Battery was slow charge for the almost 24 hrs (it ready to crank)

Fuse is good

So i have fuel, air, and spark,etc.. But for the life of me i can't get it started!!..

So now i'm here to ask for your help...

W.T.H is going on!!???..

Am i missing something here?

Was there any else i needed to check??

Any advise...

Mak.

An engine needs three things to run:  spark at the right time, good compression and fuel in the correct mixture. The battery must be good.  Are the points opening at the F mark? Do you have 150psi?  Why did you change carbs?  good luck
