Help? Positive Crankcase Ventilation, moisture and oil
« on: October 03, 2010, 07:24:57 AM »
I am struggling with the moisture being drawn up by the carbs from the OEM separator off the rocker cover port.  I tried an inline oil/moisture separator but I found that the polycarbonate shell of the separator cracked because of the thermal shock.  I built a custom separator in the same design as the OEM and like the stock plastic one I find water in the line leading up to the air filters.  This moisture burns off in the cylinders with little detrimental side affects but the moisture in the carbs cause corrosion to plated parts.

I don't want to simply dump the vent to the environment as I believe the vacuum draw the carbs provide to the rocker cover helps prevent the potential for a positive pressure build up.  Any suggestions?
