550K1 fork springs
« on: October 03, 2010, 08:43:40 AM »
I just replaced the oil in my forks and checked the springs per the manual but something didn't add up. The book says that the springs need to be replaced if they are less than 16.something. My springs measured about 18.25 inches. What are they stock and are the stock springs progressive?
Everything works and feels better now that the oil has been replaced but what are the factory spring lengths?

Yes stock springs are progressive. The spring end with the closer gaps goes that end up. Don't know what they measure. If they feel good and they are longer than replacement specs then I wouldn't worry about it.
