Sounds like more than a few from around here were out yesterday. The wife and I had a good ride as well and we also saw a few others out. It was a nice day, especially compared to today and the forecast for the rest of the week - fall showers. The season looks almost to be finished. Friday morning there was a bit of white stuff on the ground around here.

BTW Cqyqte, that's a fair hike on a Thursday night for a "dog and Root Beer". Doesn't that hardtail get a little uncomfortable? Looks nice 'thou!

Hope to see you sometime at Haugens, as they are only about 15 minutes from me.

If you build it you ride it, as there's lots of time in the winter to be sore! Max I put on it is 450 kms in one ride, quite comfortable as long as you see the railway tracks coming up......hahahaha! If thisone is still around nex summer I might ride her to the Dragon just say she's been there. Will need a chase truck as no way to pack that light.

Stand by fellas. Three years ago the very end of October was gorgeous and we rode off for an over-nighter. Two days of sun & 72 degrees made for a great ride.

I hoping for that kind of Indian Summer weekend again.

Hmmm.
I put her away today, removed the battery, filled the tank, drained the carbs, oiled the chain, put her in the shed and covered her.
I was pretty sad while I was doing all that.
If you are right about the weather, I can always undo it all?

Agree......still lots of season left especially down in the southern part of Ontario......

I never put mine away until Nov 30 or until the first time the salters come out,

I from Oakville and just got what looks like a largely original 74 550K with a small oil leak. It runs well, shifts well so I went for it. Took a chance but hoping it's nothing major.

Anyways, is anyone a member of Canadian Vintage Motorcycle Group (cvmg)? I am thinking of joining the group but not sure what are the benefits of being a member...

Welcome guys! Good to see so many new people in this area. Looking forward to meeting you in person (and seeing your rides).

buk_tony: You asked about the CVMG membership. I belong to this group and the sections across Canada usually have regular events that are held; such-as the weekly breakfast meets/ride-ins of the local Great Pine Ridge section. Their gathering is every Sunday morning at a restaurant called Famous Sam's which is located at the N-E corner of Woodbine and Stouffville Rd, and its usually a good place to see a number of nice machines that members ride-in on. (You actually wouldn't need to be a member to come have a coffee and look at the various machines, especially if you ride your own.) The CVMG is a national group in Canada and publishes a newsletter 10-times a year- my 350 Four was on the cover a few month's ago! They also hold monthly meetings where they serve a light meal that is all included for free. Its another good organization to meet other enthusiasts who have interest in all sorts of older motorcycles - not always SOHC-4 Hondas.

Hey Buk_Tony.... I'm in the same boat.... thinking of joining! I actually got in touch with the Nickel belt chapter's main guy...and he invited me to their montly meeting and a breakfast meet on Sundays... he sounds like a stand up guy! I'm looking forward to meeting the bunch.

Hondanut! Thanks for getting me his contact info...very much appreciated!! And it turns out a guy I work with is a member.... Cool Stuff... I'll have to go talk to him and get some more details.

Being a devils advocate perhaps and I'm not in any way against joining cvmg but I am reminding myself that I should be contributing to this board which is really a club that we all already belong to and that we get a great deal out of.

Bob .......I heard that there is a CVMG breakfast meet,guys from Pine ridge section that meet on Sundays at the Wimpies in Port Hope...have you heard about this meeting spot..........

I'm going to go there this Sun morning,to check it out and see .......if nothing else a ride down Lakeshore road and a coffee

If and when someone decides to organize a ride etc, Im sure everyone on the list will be contacted either by the organizer or by myself so no worries if you dont check the post regular. Maybe make sure your email address is current if you are rarely on this site and want to be informed.

Actually, it's the Ganaraska Section of the CVMG that meets for Sunday breakfast at Wimpey's, 68 Wellington St. Port Hope. They are a new section just east of the Great Pine Ridge that was started just a year or so ago, I believe. Your location, Tom, is probably in their area. Sounds like a good spot to check.

Cool rainy and windy here near Erin.
We've had a sprinkling of snow once already last week but it vanished of course.
I've already put the bike to bed for the winter.
Call me a wuss if you must.
Saw a couple guys riding today but it didn't look fun.
