Topic: can a kickstart be installed on a 750 dohc

certainly it's possible. It's not going to be easy... actually it's definitely going to be a fricking nightmare...  and what's the point? You can always bump start it if you really hate electric start.

umm?what for?the dual starters of the 70s were mainly because people "might not trust"the modern electric ones,plus batteries of the day wernt as good as these days,i think its a pointless idea.,something a troll might post.

 I dont consider it a pointless idea..
 I have a 750 Sizuki tscc motor here I would like to put in a CB 750 as a tracker.. but no kicker..

 I have never owned a non kicker (or pedal start), and dont plan on changing soon..

 So for the track there is 4 options, push start, roller start, electric start using  remote battery, or modding a kicker.

 But every motor is different, so if I could mod the Sizi, it would not be the same on the Honda DOHC..

Here's a starting mechanism that I built a while back.
All you need is another bike that starts easily.
You put the rear wheel on one side of the roller rig.
The bike you want to start is on the other side.
With the easy starting bike running and
turning the rollers you just drop the clutch on the other one
and it starts right up.
Maybe something like this would be helpful.

I guess you would have to open up an SOHC and your DOHC and see what real changes were made. They may be close enough for you to transplant the kickstart mechanism.

 Like gerhed showed is easy to make, then power by truck/car/bike or small motor..
 I was thinking, leave starter in, use two welding jacks, on cables..... connect to  motor, then pull out when started..

Having been a DOHC guy for a while now, I'm not sure where the kick lever would go into the cases with the clutch basket in the way.

just a question a simple no or a ya but its going to be very hard and a lot of work would be just fine. thanks to all that sayd just that. and a thank you to all that took the time to answere with a nonproductive answere the people that try to help have a name for that i hope someone helps you as much as youve helped me
