Well I got the bike rewired today and it actually fired!!!!!! After a bit of kicking and screaming she finally roared to life.  It seemed to idle very high after it warmed up and I couldnt adjust it down with idle adjust screw.  Any suggestions on what to look at first???  Thanks

Sounds like an air leak.  Try squirting some wd-40 or something on the boots.  If the rpm changes, you have a leak.

Sounds good.  Thanks for the tip.  As much as a problem as it was to get the airbox boots onto the carbs I could believe that would be the prob.  I'll check with wd-40 tomorrow morning.

Air leaks and voltage drains!!!!  Woohooo!!   Well I got out to the garage quick.  Didn't spend alot of time because my fingers were freezing.  Anyway I did a quick amp check with the key off and found when I unplugged the voltage reg the amp draw went to 0!  I wired it up as per the instructions but I'll have to do some investigating tomorrow.

Well I ordered a two sets of mains and two sets of idle jets today along with a new accel pump diaphragm.  I'm going to run velocity stacks due to the fact that I can't get new intake rubbers and have many leaks.  Just going to richen everything up and let er rip!!

I think I found my drain problem.  It has something to do with the ford voltage reg.  When I disconnect it my amp draw falls to 0.  Its back feeding some how.  Maybe a diode in the ignition   (black lead) will take care of it.

Got my new taillight built.  I made it out of old indicator lights that I got from an old control panel at work.  Fits the bike i think.

The seat is at the upholstery shop as of yesterday.  I was looking at an old yamaha rd350 for my next project at this mechanics shop and viola!!! he had a guy that does seats!!

I like your tail light idea.  I was gonna use some of those same lights, but blue, to do the old hot rod trick of blue dot tail lights.
If it works good, it looks good...

Thanks!  I ordered a led taillight for the bike but thought it just didn't fit the old girls style.  I found some parts and work and bought an 1157 light socket at the auto parts store and came up with something different.

Got all my new jets installed yesterday.  Went up on the pilot needle and main.  Hopefully I can get it to run well enough with bench sync I did to really get a good test on the charging system.  Baby steps are better than no steps I guess.
