F3 Cases with 530 chain question

Hi i have a nice set of F3 cases and would like to use them in my hot rod buildup RC head, Norris RX3 cam, RC adjustable cam sprocket, Henry Abe 900 slipper pistons, Yoshi super rods, RC crank, RC flywheel, Welded cush drive, Barnett clutch, F3 Gearbox to go in my Rickman CR.
I want to use a 530 chain as i have a new 530 sprocket for the rear Ronal mag wheel.
i have changed the output shaft to a K6 one and have used the F3 output gear as i am using the f3 gearbox and they are different.
the cases have two circlip grooves and added meat outside the case compared to the earlier cases,



with the K6 shaft sitting in the circlip mounts on the first grove all is good, except for chain and sprocket clearance.
Do i just remove the extra alloy to make these cases like the earlier cases and re block the pin hole below the seal in the bottom case? anyone done this? Thanks Tom

i remember mcrider saying that the later years use a dual row bearing on the output shaft. probably your issue there, may need a shaft out of a 77-78 or whenever they switched to it. i dont recall when they did

Am using a F2 engine with 520 chain and sprockets, you can use the F2/F3 shaft and just put the rear chainwheel 10 m/m outwards.
You can , on the otherhand, remove the material from the cases if you want to do it your way.

Thanks for the answers yes i want to use the biger double row bearing, i had another look at it and after your post Rob and then i realised that the spline on the F3/3 shaft is the same as the earlier output shafts and my earlier sprocket sits right on there.
I dont know why i thought they were different size splines. but i had in my head they were different... wrong....
so there are a few more posibilities, i thought i could grind the shoulder on the shaft that the sprocket sits against to give me another 2mm and i can use an early sprocket they are thiner or i can remove some material from the side of the sprocket say another 2mm that moves it back in 4mm so i only have to move the rear sprocket over 6mm
i do like the look of that solid F2 shaft, and the double row bearing sits in the cases better, much stronger..So i will try and use it, if it does not work out i will get a F1 solid shaft and remove metal from the cases. Thanks Tom

You could run the F2 output shaft with an offset sprocket. A bit more simple than machining. CycleX sells one. Sounds like it's going in an earlier model bike, so you shouldn't have an issue with tire/chain clearance. The longer F2 shaft was there to accommodate for the wider swingarm, or visa versa.

You could use the sprocket carrier from the 77/78 bikes, also. Then the spacer would need to be machined down for the rear wheel.

 Run the long shaft & widest bearing that will fit..
 way more choice on tire width if you do that. Check the splines on 77/78 shaft, have seen one wear out early..
