   I picked up a mint 100% unmolested Candy Gold 350 earlier this year.   3,600 miles, original matching tires (Bridgestones, i think they are) still on it, although not really usable.

   I knew it was seized.  Put some Kano oil in it a few times and the oil eventually seeps past the pistons in a few days/short time.

   So I am wondering to myself, if maybe the pistons are not seized, but something else is...like the top end of the motor or the tranny/   Rear tire spins freely in neutral, wont spin when in gear.

   Any way to figure out if the it may be the top end, short of pulling the top end off and checking it out.

Motor could be "stuck" [piston ring rusted to cylinder].
Make a cocktail of ATF & acetone and pour it in the cylinder, let sit for a few days then try pushing the bike in 4th gear,

Put in gear and see if wheel will turh when clutch lever pulled in, if it does tranny is OK
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).

Remember "Its always in the last place you look" COURSE IT IS YOU STOP LOOKIN THEN!
