Came across another bit of coverage about that F1-technology inspired tiny "inexpensive" car that's supposed to solve 3rd world transportation problems according to the BBC today.  At $9k a pop?  I think not.  Then I came across this article.  I think it makes up for that first one.

As someone who has researched the life of one of the founding fathers of the American Motorcycle Industry, I can tell you that what is happening in Africa is exactly what he intended and invisioned the motorcycle to be a cheap and reliable source of transportation.  I just wish more people here in the United States realize this.
