Smashed gas tank....
« on: March 10, 2006, 09:21:16 PM »
No..no ... I didn't smash mine.  I was at a bike rally Thursday and a guy showed up with
a sport bike (don't remember the brand) that he had totally caved in the front top of the gas
tank.  Seems he likes to do almost vertical wheelies that involve putting your feet over the
handle bars with your a** sitting on the tank, jumping the bike up, and balancing it almost
vertical at about 5 mph.  He needed a firm depression in the tank to sit on.

I wish I had had a camera as he proceeded to demonstrate this maneuver....quite impressive. :o
Made me cringe to watch....and I worry about leaning too far on corners.  Oh to be 20 again.  ;D

Yeah techy,

There always seems to be a bunch of these guys putting on a show when I make it to a racetrack. It is fun to watch. I used to think I was a pretty good in the wheelie department, but these "new guys" are nuts! I think it's safe to say that they won't be keeping and restoring these bikes thirty some years from now.

Those "stunt bikes" are just that. Their entire purpose is to allow the rider to kill himself, and look good doing it.

Not my cup of tea, but to each their own...
