Any Howard Stern fans?
« on: October 21, 2010, 07:24:28 PM »
Some love him, some hate him. Always contraversial, sometimes entertaining, sometimes a total turn off. What say you folks?
Anyone think he'll retire at the end of '10? :)

The guy was a rich turd before he sold out to be an incredibly rich turd...  Polish at will.... you'll still end up with a turd  ( but it will be a rich turd )

When his show was on regular radio I could have cared less, always just skirting around issues, tons of inuendo. But when he went to satellite, wow, the show became what it was meant to be. I've tried to describe it to people who think it's a porn and s*#t fest, it's like hanging out at the bar. People saying what's on their mind, without trying to cover their ass. I haven't listened since before Artie left, but I hope he'll be back.

I have said it a million times, I'll gladly pay to hear radio with no commercials and limited yukster DJ dips*#ts any day.

Never cared for Howard Stern. I feel he is lower than the gutter he creates.

I listened to Howard Stern before he was HOWARD STERN. He was a disc jockey on a local station here in NY. I have followed him all the way to Sirius Radio.

I know people that have worked with him and he is not what you think. He is the smartest man in the media business. He realized when working at the little station that he needed to separate himself from the pack,or just move from station to station scraping by, and he did.

When you listen to the Howard Stern Show you are listening to theater. He is an actor on the radio, and if you really listen you will understand he is very insightful and one of the best interviewers around. In his private life he is very quiet, and when the show goes live, he becomes Howard Stern.

He was probably influenced by Lenny Bruce, George Carlin, and also some of the great talk radio hosts, who are his heroes. He learned his craft from them and spun it.

You would be surprised at his listening audience, many of whom will only admit they listen in private. He represents freedom and verbalizes what many of us are thinking.

Yeah, there definitely is more than meets the eye with Stern, very smart dude.

Not your typical wacky morning DJ for sure.

Stuttering John: Hey Ringo, what did you do with the money your mother gave you for singing lessons?

Ringo Star: I spent it on fish and chips.  :D

Classic.

Howard is a NY guy and his sense of humor and personality is NY centric. He even has a NY accent and his phrasing is NY. This does not always play out in the rest of the US. I had a great fellow working for me who lived in Iowa, I liked everything about him, he thought I did not like him because we in NY have a way of busting each others balls, we do have  have rules, but you are judged on how well you can give it and how well you can take it. He did not understand it, they don;t do that in Iowa the same way.
Howard is not for everyone, but those who like him, like him a lot.
