My cheap cafe
« on: October 23, 2010, 05:21:12 PM »
I bought this 1973 cb500 a couple of years ago from a guy who drag raced it some. When I got it it had not ran for 3 years and the carbs where gone. It had a seat pan but no seat. I made the seat I know it aint great its the stock pan the back I made out of a batting helmet. I painted it red at first and my boys rode the crap out of it.This time I repainted it for me. It runs real good I have no ideal what has done to the motor but its quick for a 500.

Mate, thats a nice little 500 you've got there, i would ditch that seat and put a nice aftermarket one on and then it would look great for not much more money..... ;)   Not trying to bash you about the seat but the rest of that bike is very nice....

If You can't fix it with a hammer, You've got an electrical problem.

I built the bike for $225.00 including everything. It has Kawasaki parts and some Suzuki parts . Yes I know the seat needs to be replaced going to a swap meet Sunday. I don't want what everyone else has and I ain't paying 200.00 for what I have seen so far on ebay and at vintage days. Also right now I am working on a 82 seca turbo and a 84 rx7 and there taking all my extra cash
