Got my ride back on the road this summer (after 24 years!) & it's better than it ever was.  Found this site recently & am looking forward to learning tech tips & tricks to keep it sweet, upgrade some parts, maybe hookup with some local riders next summer here in Ontario (saw some posts from Ontario guys & will look for them again).

My bike is a 72 CB500K1 & was pulled right down last winter, powdercoated the frame, new rings, all seals replaced, found used wheels with better chrome than mine & undented tank to replace originals.  Tried to get an orange metalflake paint job but it turned out gold, so the new nickname is "Goldmember".  Looks very nice, but I am debating repainting again this winter to get that real loud orange used on the CB750's (I think).

Cheers to all, drop me a line.

Welcome, from directly north of you!  Hope you enjoy your ride - it sounds to be a very nice one.  You mentioned that you've just got it on the road after 24 years.  I assume that means it wasn't in use for that long.  How long have you owned it?  I have a 1974 350 Four that I obtained a few years ago, and it had been sitting for about 20 years, I believe.  Its great to find these bikes and revive them after they've had such a long sleep.

Hope to meet-up sometime.

Hello Brooze72 and welcome!

If you haven't already, check out the thread from a few of us here in southern Ontario that are trying to get organized for some rides/meetups next summer:

Sounds like you have been busy. Aside from the color (which is important) how does she run?

Thanks for the welcome Hondanutrider.

I bought this bike in 79 at Dynamic Cycle in Scarborough & drove it for about 7 years, then TO traffic, kids, job etc put it on the back burner.  Last fall an old riding buddy from Montreal, now in Kingston, asked if I still had it in the garage, he wanted the proverbial winter project & to get me back on the road!  Well you don't get friends like that everyday & who am I to say no?  The result of our efforts was really great, in my humble opinion, & I have enjoyed this summer getting back in the saddle, both locally & with my bud in the Kingston area.

Would love to meetup sometime as we're not far apart.  Love to see your bike too, I'm probably wrong, but I thought the 350's were 71 to 73, same as the 500's, then Honda went to 400's & 550's?  Anybody know exactly?

Thanks to you too Cookindaddy

I found that link & have been posting there too.  She's running great after a good warm up, don't remember if it was always like that.  Modified the muffler a bit so it has a removable baffle but never packed it with insul for sound so it's a little raucous & occassional backfire on decel. Pulls strong but had a couple of instances this summer where it was running 2 cylinders for a few km but then clear3ed itself up.  I put it down to crap in the gas but am not sure exactly.

The history of the 350 Four is that it was introduced in 1972 and in North America and that year it came in only two colours - a Red and a funky Olive.  (It was available in some markets in a Silver colour, but not here.  The 350 Four model was also never introduced in Britain.)  The exact bike  and colours continued to be available in 1973, but then in 1974 it came only in one colour - a Glory Blue Black Metallic colour, with gold striping and the side-emblem in white and orange (last two colours also changes from previous years.)  It only was produced the three years 1972 though 1974 and then upgraded to the CB400F in late 1974, which was introduced as a 1975 model.

I believe, the Glory Blue Black Metallic colour was only available on this particular model from Honda - just for the 1974 year.
