Where do you have the clip set at?

I suspect it's set too high? but I don't know exactly.

Your going to need to know the clip position.  That along with the jet sizes (known) will give you your baseline.  I've got the needles lifted 1 position, and if I remember correctly, Terry's are in the stock position.  Don't take this the wrong way, but I'm kind of glad there's a bike with fueling issues.  It will give us all a chance to help you (and us) find the right jetting for your situation, and add to the info data base.

That sounds like a great idea. I'll leave everything as it is right now and get some pre-filter (or with pods) data for us and we can go from there. Then we can start messing with the jets and needle height to see what works once your filter/stacks solution is installed. Maybe we should start another thread?

A jetting thread for the filter kit is something I'm planning on starting.  I would like to be purely informational though, and keep the 'chatter' in this thread.

Brian,

Mine arrived (in northern West Virginia) yesterday afternoon.  It did not appear to have been opened up, the filter element itself was still in its sealed bag.  Very nice!

I got mine kit on Monday or so.
Just put it on last night. Went on with very little fuss.

Didn't ride it, but while just blipping the throttle, it feels smoother.

Going to ride it around after work today.

Smoother than pods, or smoother than the stock airbox?

Glad to it arrived unscathed Kong.  Didn't think they would bother opening it; but does it glow in the dark after Homeland scanned it. ;) ;D ;D ;D ;D

Doh!

Good point.

Smoother that pods, but that's not a surprise.

I'll post after I ride it around. I'm thinking of doing a dyno run, since I have a before curve to compare it to.

OK Tinner - I've started shopping for parts and I'm starting to feel left out here.  You got a set left for a brother on a 550 who wants black stacks?

I have 550 filters, and am just putting the next stack order together.  Given your bike is...... :D, I don't think you are in a massive rush. ;)  3/4 weeks OK?

Anyone who's got a runner can skip ahead of me in the queue as long as I get a set eventually.  Frame mods will hopefully happen over the winter, and I'd like to have the filter then.

Rode the bike around last night. Compared to the pods, this is much nicer. A lot smoother off idle. Couldn't really feel that much difference in outright power as measured by the butt-dyno, but I am planning on doing a dyno run tomorrow to see how she runs.

Will post when I get some data.

this is really really cool and you sell this for the cb550. does the bike need to be re-jetted like pod filters? have you done any dyno'd with this filter on?

Yes to re jetting, simply because the engine is getting more air.  As for dyno'ing, Odiewan has done his 750 with pods, and is going to re-do it with the filter kit.  Should make for an interesting comparison.  He's already posted some 'butt dyno' results. :)
