Laserdiscs were nothing special, just a giant cd. They were about as groundbreaking as the sega dreamcast.

Laserdisks had much better video then any version of VHS or Beta. Plus, the later ones had digital audio. The one hour max/side was limiting, but my player plays both sides without having to turn the disk over. Still, they can't compare to DVD much less blueray.

I still have a DVD/LD Pioneer Elite player, not as good sound as my Theta Data II though.
