Switching out carbs on CB650
« on: November 15, 2010, 08:32:30 PM »
I have been having the hardest trouble getting my 1980 CB650 to run.  I finally took it to a mechanic and he said that the carburetor bodies are so corroded/oxidized that the carburetor needs to be replaced.  I was semi-expecting this because I thought the same thing when I was cleaning them.  There are not many options available for purchasing a set of used carburetors off of ebay for the mechanical slide cb650 carbs.  I have seen several references on this site to members using carburetors from different motorcycles, possibly the 1977/78 CB750.  Can anyone give some insight into this switch?  What would have to be replaced besides the carburetor?

Thanks,
Adam
