well finally got over my Asthmatic Bronchitis.  Im still not feeling very well, but got to get some more done on my "Semi-Restore"  meaning i did tear it all the way down but im working on a small budget.   purchasing a bike and a parts bike with parts, and after all is said and done keeping the project at 1k out of pocket and remaining parts sold off.

At this point the frame is done,  front end on, swing arm is on, and im tearing down the wheels/hubs for new bearings and seals, and cleaning each spoke one at a time. In this pic the front wheel is not yet torn down, i also have new tires sitting around waiting patiently to dress up this 72' beast.

thinking about painting the hubs,  so ill be researching a good paint and color, i guess i should get that spraymax 2000 clear that everyone raves about.
updated pics:

as you can see im not a good painter or preper. but after i hit it again, wet sand and clear, should be good.

finally after recovering from bronchitis, today i got back to work on my 72 cb750.  Here are some updated pics of the rear hub.  I tore it all down, installed new bearings, dust covers, brake shoes etc.  I didnt buff and polish like some would but it cleaned up pretty nice.  Im dreading, cleaning the engine, specially since its 4 inches of snow here in indy and i cant take it outside to power wash like id like to.

Just need to install the spokes front and back and ill have a rolling chassis again.

thx stev-o.  yeah had bronchitis for the last week and a half, then a headache all day yesterday but im back at it.   Im 2 rims and 80 spokes or so from having a rolling chasis.  Ive got all i need except a caliper and paint for the covers and tank.  like i said earlier im dreading the engine clean up. 3 more months and the weather will be perfect for the maiden ride.

few more pics,  was tinkering and started messing with the bucket, rear fender, tool tray and bat box.  Yes pretty random but after 12 hours at Fedex Dispatch on "Peak Week" (week before Christmas)  I just wanted to de stress and tinker around.

Trip to Delaware and back yesterday to grab grandfather for the holidays. 12 hours in the car because of holiday traffic. Oh boy!

Can't wait to get back to normal and start wrenching again!!!

Looking good Steve. What color are you going with on the tank and side covers, or did I miss that?

Im going with the Candy Gold, with the black strip on the tank.  Still debating on rattling it myself or getting it done, i got a nice lil wad of cash for xmas, so i might just have a pro do it.  Getting my new spokes today so ill be lacing it up tonight or tomorrow.

thanks!

The Candy Gold is one of my favorite CB750 colors. The 750 K2 owners are the lucky ones because Honda made them in several different colors. Depending on which market they were sold in you can find:

Candy gold custom
Brier brown metallic
Flake sunrise orange
Candy ruby red
Planet blue metallic
Silver metallic custom
Astro purple metallic

Ok, moving right along, i finally got the guts to try and lace up the rims myself, with the new spokes from www.cb750supply.com
Plz tell me they look correct.  Im going to get them trued and balanced at my friends house across town as he has the tools to do so.  Should have a rolling chassis in a few days.
