Just bought a 1980 CB 750
« on: November 29, 2010, 02:32:40 pm »
I've been wanting to build a cafe bike and have been watching CL like a hawk. Found this CB yesterday and picked it up today. Pretty new to CBs and had some questions. Are Keihin carbs stock on these bikes? Also has a Kerker 4 into 1 exhaust in decent shape, is that aftermarket? Oh, and it looks like the rear shocks are air shocks... Gotta love the sparkly gold paint! Looks like they shaved off the emblems.

Bike turns over fine but won't fire up, has 53k miles and carbs leak like crazy. Seems to me like a deal for $500 with title. I may just get this running and look for something smaller (350-550cc), this bike is muy grande!

Nice DOHC find.  The kerker is aftermarket but the sound it makes is music to most peoples ears.  From the pics the paint job doesnt look to bad at all.  Get her running and have some fun.

Ya it looks pretty clean. Rear brake is a little sticky, hope the tire hold air. Going to pull the carbs and plugs off tomorrow and take a look. Anybody have the instructions for carb cleaning?
