Topic: How to unstick carb slide (1969 CL70)?

I'm reviving a CL70 for a friend of the family as a favor (and a sacrifice of elbow grease to the vintage honda gods) and I've hit my first road block. The slide that rides in top of the carb that controls needle height (is slide the right term) is stuck quite solidly. I've hit it with a LOT of pb blaster with no success, so what's next? I'm going to try to heat it in boiling water and see if I can't get it to free up, but I don't have much faith in this solution. Any other ideas? I figure this has to be a common problem with all the old singles/twins that use this setup...

fill a pan half full with water then add half a bottle of vinegar , add carb then boil ... depends how stuck it is but will normally free off in about 10 min , if not you have just made the worst soup in the world

Simple hot water did the trick. I heat my house with a wood stove and always keep a big pot of water on to to help keep some moisture in the air. The water was pretty warm, so I just threw the carb in for a minute and BAM, the slide came right out. It was just sticky gas varnish on the slide. Thanks for the tip!
