Hey MJ,

Yea, the rider list needs a LOT of updates.  I locked it until I can get back to it later this weekend.  Too nice a day to not be riding or wrenching!!
Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

If the latest schedule holds it looks like you might be getting IT on or about June 7-10.  That's quite a bit faster than was projected.  Apparently IT is not spending much time in Chicago. No problem.

Opportunity..............Cycle X (Ken) will be at Road America from June 10-12 at the Vintage Bike Fest.  Should we plan that as an event and gathering?  AHRMA races and a bike show hosted by Motorcycle Classics.  I am the ride leader for Saturday the 11th. Could IT go on the ride with the mag editor and camera?

You would likely have to skip most of the UP............but so does the rest of the world!  I could arrange for 3 or 5 free passes for you guys & gals to get into Road America.

Just some thoughts........maybe Jerry will get caught in a snow-storm and we won't see IT until July.

I haven't looked that far out on the schedule but I saw June 10th mentioned twice by you. That looks to be the same day and it also looks to be at the same place! Enough said? If it can happen it should happen  ;) There hasn't been any timelines or real planning set after you so you should take a serious look and see if it will work before the rest of the guys start their planning. I plan on being at Motorcycle Classics headquarters on May 10th and will discuss Road America with Richard Backus. **** WAIT A MINUTE - you talking about the handoff from our area or from Team Eastern Canada? I'm confused  :o

Now as far as snow, we get the REAL #$%* here so DO NOT jinx us!  >:(  Record snow falls so far and it's still coming down in the mountains AND I PLAN ON RIDING ACROSS THE CONTINENTAL DIVIDE IN 8 DAYS TO GRAB BIG G! then across the Utah mountains and back. WE NEED 3 DAYS OF BEAUTIFUL SUNSHINE BEGINNING 5/1!! Plus it's flurrying some here today. Just remember - GODZILLA WAITS FOR NO ONE  8)

Just keep in mind we've been damn lucky so far. Cross your fingers here.

Hey Michigan Riders!!

I've put some formatting into post #1 of the "Michigan Riders List" http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=87832.0  I have also opened the topic for you to add your replies.  Please reply with where in the schedule you plan to join the rally and where you plan to make your exit.  I added a few, but it became obvious quickly that my memory is shot!  I'd rather hear your plans fresh.

As you can see by the formatting, I put in some generic "meet ups" each day for breakfast, lunch, dinner and the overnight.  If there is another meet up point you would like to add, please put that in your reply too.

Lets see how this goes...
Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?

Hey Dennis!

This all sounds pretty tempting!  We'll have to see what happens once we get some firm dates.  There is still a question about Eastern Canada in that we don't know yet if they will be riding into the Maritime Provencals.

Bruce updated the Godzilla Slept, etc. thread---hand off to Team New England on June 12th.  My guess for Michigan: early July. Should we start a pool?

BTW we visited Cycle Moore last weekend. Very interesting place---a "working" museum is how Shirley described it at the Trout Town Motorcycle Show.
When you visit you can see this "work" in progress and much more.

You'll enjoy seeing those pipes for real, soon hopefully. But I hope no one gets the wrong idea cause I don't mean to be disrespectful to them with my picture of a kind of weirdity that I found parked outside.  Cycle Moore is a REAL jewel and worth a destination trip. They've got tons of motorcycle memorabilia, race stuff, antiques, antique bikes, Brits, Japs, American. It's the real deal.

Awesome!!

A new chain & sprockets, maybe an oil change and new plugs and it'll be back on the road!  That paint just needs a good buffing.

Hey.  I`m from Lake City.  My son CB650, was involved in the Colorado relay.   I`m interested in running a couple days with you all depending on the dates.  I have a CB650, but it is in Denver,  but I do have a 1100 Shadow if it is allowed to run with you all.  I agree this insurance is nothing but a great big SCAM!  I pay $600 a year on a 2004 Shadow 1100 and a 2003 Sportster 883.  I`ve always said "I don`t care what insurance company it is or what you have insured,  your getting screwed!"  If you are in Michigan you`ll get taxed coming AND going!

Hey Weiner!

Of coarse you can ride along!  We don't know the dates yet, but hopefully soon.  Have you seen the map of the proposed route?  We should be able to ride both the UP and the LP in about 4 days.

Damn the insurance, let's have some fun!!
