I can probably do it. Can you tell me the pickup and dropoff points and a date?

We don't have a date or place. That would be up to the person who wants to meet Mickey and Mickey.

Mickey will be in Portland tomorrow or Thursday. Let me know if you are free.

Great, thanks! Thursday or Friday after 4pm I can meet you anywhere you want.
I want to take it for a ride on Saturday with some other members and pass it on.

Mickey6 told me to say he will be looking for people to drink beers with on Wednesday night in Portland.

The handoff to Mickey6 occurred this morning in John Day, OR.  He was 120 miles out of Portland about an hour and a half ago.

Wow that was fast, it seems like just a couple of days ago GZ was still in Montana/Idaho. Now he is finally here!
Did we ever figure out the route through Washington? Or is it just going to be a blast up the I-5?

Correct me if I'm out of line here but it seems this GZ trek is losing a bit of steam and SOHC4 spirit since it's arrival out west. The riders' log hasn't had an entry in almost a month, legs of the relay are down to lone riders just hussling GZ through as fast as possible, there are no meet and greets or pics being taken, what's going on?

The southern, midwest, east coast, and canadian legs all seemed like a party with groups of riders meeting up for beers or whatever whether they rode long distances or just across town. Now it's "here, you take it, no you take it, OK I guess I'll take it." I know timing is everything and not everyone can take time off from work or family stuff, me included but I think a few of us can and should get together for a meet and greet before GZ leaves Seattle at least to meet other members and say that we were there and to post a pic to the rider's log. Isn't that what the spirit of this relay is all about? Like I said correct me if I'm wrong.

And again on the breakfast thing if we had it somewhere in the southend maybe the Tacoma and other southend guys could make it if even for a little bit. We can all put our hands on GZ for a pic to post online. Just a thought. Then on to the great white north.

My perspective is a little different from yours.  You have to realize that GZ just traveled through the least densely populated and remote areas of Canada and the U.S.  There ain't a lot of people out there for "meet and greets."  I have plenty of pictures and videos to post.  Jerry said he'd like to see the rider logs posted more or less chronologically, so I haven't been in a big hurry as there are a couple of upstream riders that need to post.  Don't sell the riders short that went to considerable effort and expense to make this part of the relay work.  Trust me, there was plenty of "steam" and "spirit."  As for hustling it through, you may have noticed it is the middle of September.  Temps were down to the mid-20s a couple of nights on our camp-outs in Montana.  There was a winter weather advisory in the area a few days before I went through Glacier Park.  There was extensive snow across Montana last year at this time.  So it was probably best not to dawdle as anything can happen up there this time of year, and probably will, as this coming week is going to demonstrate.

I think I hear you, when I pick it up at the border.. I will probably take it home and try to find someone to hand it off to.. no one has yet said they can do it execpt Seaweb.. but for him to come 1/2 way to here is quite a bit.
Have one local member here, advised them to ask for a possible day off to do this with me, but it appears they may no have not even asked if they could. So it seems like a weekend is the only time I can get someonr to maybe ride along and take pics.
I can do the border meet  during the week as it stands right now.. but may not have the bike on the road 2 weeks from now. The weather wont get nicer than it was, so I think we got to get it moving..

I hear ya Ofreen, you're one of the wests last heroes! But Portland pretty much got bypassed in the middle of the night kinda thing I expected a decent turnout there. So far only one maybe two riders for the Seattle area at one time. I guess I'm just trying to ralley some troups around here. We waited all year for GZ to pass through the PNW and now it looks like all we might see is his hind end attached to one single SOHC4 on his way out of town, which could be tonight for all I know but hopefully a few of us can get together tomorrow morninig and whoever is taking him can get out of here at a decent starting time.

Breakfast:
So we used to stop and have breakfast at a place called the Riverside in Tukwila before heading out to the countryside to ride the twisties. I think it's called the American Casino now but I'll check to see if they still do breakfast. I know they're open in the mornings when I drive by for work.

Or if you'all really want to do up Seattle right, Larry's Greenfront in Pioneer Square serves breakfast. I don't think parking would be an issue for a few bikes at 7:30 - 8 on a satruday morning. Any other suggestions?

OK, I see what you mean.  When you wrote "arrival out west" I took it to mean a little larger area than you intended.  It is a little ironic that it has been so hard to get some action from two such large population centers as Portland and Seattle.  Good luck with your effort.

Really wish I could have taken part in at least the Portland to Seattle leg but unfortunately my CB550 was totaled in an accident May 30th & I am in the process of rebuilding it.  I walked away (limped) from the crash, but the bike did not fair as well.  I looked for another SOHC4 to ride while I fix it but the best I could come up with was a KZ650.
