I will say this, at least we are DONE with the mountain passes. BTW on the 3 hrs I spent on the passes, I saw around 9 bikes including myself.
I am waiting for Jerry to comment on the current discussion in here...

If we are being told 'No' for a reasonable cause,

Just so no one misunderstands, I'm not saying you guys shouldn't get more time, even if it was my decision, which it sure as hell ain't.  I'd like to see everyone get a chance with GZ.  Just trying to be helpful in case there is a next time. ;)

No one else was rushed,
Oh really??!! ::) GZ spent more time in Seattle than he did in the whole state of Arizona.
As far as Jerry, he is out of town right now, so I'll pass on his last comments to me on the subject:
"Guess my only further responses to them will be- plan, plan for 2012 or get left out again."

Why not start in BC next year...  ?
I'm a little disapointed myself, but it's my own fault I guess, need to make a living.  Now I have weeks off but the rides over.... bummer.

My offer still stands though, Nanaimo to Victoria.

Hope you liked the t-shirts...

Jerry and I have spoken and he has given me an address in NZ to mail Godzilla and all the stuff to. So I shall do just that.
I'll post some of my photos here later.

Miles with GZ for me 140 miles.

What kind of riding season have you got up there? When does it start and when does it end? The route for the next relay can be whatever we want, it hasn't been written yet. The same considerations to include as many as possible still applies, and trying to time the weather for each region is probably the toughest constraint. Work up a route and a schedule and post it! I'm thinking of sitting down here soon and maybe working up a couple of different scenarios, maybe something that covers the Rockies in mid to late July so Jerry and Greg don't have to ride in the snow!

Man I wished I had put my name on the Banner and  gone thru the log books but after running out of gas we were late.. we only saw Derek for around 5 minutes.
Man are those GRRREAT PICS, bet they will make it in the magazine.. killer nice stuff..

Yeah considering we stopped at a gas station.. shoulda.. (Fraser Canyon has lost most of its traffic, due to faster route nearby, so many gas stations in small towns have closed up)

Monkey in the Garden, GeeZee made me stop there, he had to check that out.. just east of Spences Bridge. (no gas station BTW)

We only had a few minutes pulled up close to Derek so we could hang the banner, but ran out of time.. luckily Peter was along to shoot some pics, thanks for that..

Hey Seaweb

Sounds like you had a pretty good ride, beautiful pics too.  I remember driving the Nanaimo to Tofino road a few years back & dreaming about doing it again someday, but on a bike. ::)  Did the whole length of the Sea to Sky last year, man, you BC guys are blessed with roads & scenery!

Since it sounds like you're the last GZ rider in NA this year, how's about taking a count of them signatures on the back of the banners?  I'm pulling together a few Rally stats & would like to know.  Or you could send me a copy of the pic you posted to count, whatever's easiest.  Thanks, Brooze

Gentlemen,

I'm truely sorry that everyone could not be accomodated but this was not a phenomenon only related to PNW. Many people who wanted to participate were unable to for various reasons of their own. I've had the pleasure to deal with hundreds of people. I didn't have my SOHC4 built to ride yet and was given a loaner. I rode through snow storms and 100 degree heat on 2 occasions in order to meet a rider who rode solo across Nevada after braving his snow storm then I had to meet a rider that had a schedule to keep due to his vacation time while the next region was waiting on him with plans of their own. Some planned farther out than others because they could while others made last minute plans. I had my issues making the ride just as I've had my issues making this HUGE project happen. Try doing this in the middle of a divorce. Many guys had bike issues, many guys had family issues, many guys had job issues, many guys had money issues, many guys had many other issues. Life issues. Tornadoes. Floods. Snow storms. Torrential rains. Extreme heat. The guys MADE it happen. I knew this would not be seamless. I had a difficult time bringing on a coordinator for PNW and Rat so graciously volunteered to complete the coordinator team for which I am grateful. I was really doubtful that PNW would have a cordinator. I resorted to begging on occasion. Why? No one wanted to volunteer! Yes, GZ poked through some regions and I thought we may have to use UPS on occasion and not have the continuity. Again the guys MADE it happen. They got GZ to PNW. From the beginning the plan was to do this over a 6 month period and we ran over. That's not so bad but it had to end sometime and Seaweb has always been the planned endpoint as the ride's northern/westernmost participant. Ask him about the issues he too is facing. He too MADE it happen. I didn't think we'd be ready for 2011 but he masses demanded it so we kicked it off. We all learned lessons as we went. We all should have learned from those before us and taught those coming up behind us. MANY of us watched this from the very beginning and followed it daily. Did we really know WTF? A definite NO. We learned on the fly but we MADE it happen. I put WAY too much effort in this to be a one time event. I knew this would only be a warm up for next year. I hope somone can continue this great event but make it even better next year. There will be issues next year too. Guaranteed like life, death and taxes.
Lessons taught, lessons learned. Let's start the planning for 2012. Perhaps we can start with you guys and reverse it this time? The Daytona 200 was an excellent idea for a springtime kickoff. When can you guys start this and is there an event to start with? I'll put the ball in your park now.

Speaking of which I probably won't be available for much of the week as I am attending the funeral of my mentor, Mr Sonny Ralston in Paducah, KY. Without him my life would have been entirely different and I would not have had the pleasure of all your company nor that of Godzilla. Here's to Sonny!  :'(

Here's to 2012. Bigger and better. Godzilla ROCKS!

Jerry

Thanks Seaweb!  Sounds like your name may be first on the list next year!  Damn, I'll still be somewhere in the middle ;D  Be sure & post a link to that reporter's story when it's published.

Jerry, sorry for your loss.  Keep your chin up mate, I think your mentor might have been proud of a certain worldwide accomplishment you had a big hand in getting going this year.
