We've got Fastbroshi from Dallas to Las Cruces, NM

Justin from Lubbock good for "100 or 200" miles (we've been in email contact)

And myself meeting them in/around Artesia so we can hit White Sands and stop in Las Cruces that night before taking it to AZ next day.

Edit: I didn't read the previous two posts before this one.  You Texas guys talk amongst yourselves route-wise; but I've outlined the (I think) most direct route to Nm

It's partially my fault.  Something lit a fire under my behind and I up and signed up for school.  And that doesn't end til May 12th.  I figured that was far enough off that I won't be able to make it given where the group will be.   Combine that with a new job that I really can't pry away from just yet and there ya go.    I'll keep an eye on the thread and see if I can contribute in some way.

Justin up here in Lubbock.  Yes, I would be willing to ride southeast of Lubbock if it was needed.  Just my two cents.             Justin in Lubbock

Thanks, Justin. One of the big problems with TX is that you guys are so spread out. Being flexible about the route is essential to a team effort. What about the rest of you Texans? Think about routes where you can join up. You guys have to decide how far you are willing to ride, and on which roads.

Good for you! I was 29+ when I graduated.

Guess this means you'll have to ride Utah in May, huh?! Riders are very scarce there.

Heck I guess so.  So my first class was today, turns out I can actually miss 4 days of class before I automatically lose a letter grade.  I may end up being able to go after all.   Pray for me guys.

Cool. Work hard and you can get a B and still make the relay! :D Honestly, sometime in my mid-twenty's I had a sort of epiphany about school: when an instructor puts any significance on something, pay attention. It will come up on a test. Also, there are techniques for taking tests that can improve your score. For example, with multiple choice questions, first rule out answers you know to be wrong, then you can concentrate on the remaining options and think it out. What are you studying, btw?

The latest that I know is we are leaving for Israel about the 12th of April and back for very end of April/1st of May.

Then the wife informs me that we're supposed to ride out East for family on 24 July, heading back West the second week in August.

When's a guy s'posed to work, er, ride with his buddies?

You can count me in for an Austin rider if needed. Are there others? I know some cool routes through the hill country. Who is the coordinator for the region?

I believe Scottly is the coordinator. As of now, the route does not come within 5 hours of Austin, not good for us [I'm just northwest].
Maybe that will change, depending on how far you want to ride.

Hi DYSKORD! Yes, as Stev-o mentioned, I am the coordinator for the region. As I have stated before, TX is a vast area, with potential riders from all over. Remember guys, this is a RELAY. You don't have to do an iron butt to participate. There are 5 days allotted to getting "IT" from the OK/TX border to the TX/NM border. Think about it.

Do you have "penciled in" dates for Texas yet? April??

I would like to participate but cannot commit yet. My 550F is almost ready for a trip, but the 750 will be in pieces 'til at least next fall [new project].

Enter TX: 4-20. Exit TX: 4-25 (totally hypothetical at this point, but it's a start! :D)

OK, with 5 days (proposed) in Texas,  I added a new route to the map in the first post.  The Orange Line takes us south to Colorado Bend State Park and we could go further south as well.  After some time in the hill country, we head north west to Lubbock and and out to New Mexico.  I don't know how many of you guys are down for camping in the park.  Might be fun.

If you want to make a contribution to the map (Oklahoma and New Mexico guys, as well) PM me your email address (you have to register with google) and I will add permissions to edit the map.  I just ask that you don't erase anyone's work.

Well with the above info. I think all I can say is is that I am in Austin and if there is an opportunity for participation, I am in. Just need to know who to meet on what day and where? Let me know.

I clicked on the link in the first post but didn't see the route.

I'd be up for camping if it's on the weekend.

It works for me. It does take a couple of seconds for the routes to be added. Try waiting; if you don't have high-speed internet, it will take longer..

You guys figure out a route and I'll make the NM handoff as long as you can bring it into the state.  That said, Roswell, Artesia or Las Cruces all have advantages for me.
