In this picture...is everything there?? or is something missing???

This picture shows the 4x wires (red)(black)(green) and (white) which I have no idea where they go????? what gives???

I want to know where the red one goes too!  I just got a new OEM POS cable and it has two wires coming off of it.  I am looking at those others...oh oh...where do they go...really.  I just put a new harness in and I wonder where they go..soooo.....tagging along.

If there is a flat gray and black connector, me thinking that is for the flasher.

looks like the green one is sitting behind the flasher.  The flasher has two wires.   now I know for sure where that other green wire goes one the harness...to the bolt under the seat lock.  I didn't have that on the old harness...darn PO..but it is there on the new harness.  I have read about a green wire that goes to nothing....that one hanging behind the flasher might be it.

You can get it from bikebandit but they or honda are in love with it!  It is like $70 or something.  I have seen it somewhere much cheaper but can't figure out where.  Ebay has some used ones.

I found this nice triangle pic.  It prolly does not help much but it is perty!

Any quicky fast auto parts store, just get a solid state 12v  2 prong turn signal flasher.

if you pay a few extra for the solid state unit the turn signals flash at the same rate at idol or revving and the will work with LED if you should so decide to do that later.

Jaydem, the rectifier plug is discconnected in your pics.  You recognize realize that, right?

When you get the battery in, let us know if the mystery red wire is hot all the time, or only hot when the key is on.

I'm not aware of any US-spec 750s having an "accessory" hot wire, but that's what it looks like it could be.

Kevin I unplugged to recitifier so I can see more.

Yeah I keep looking and cant find where the red wire can go.

On the wiring diagram, it looks like one goes to a 15a fuse, and I cant find that either!

I found a post from TwoTired explaining the extra flat green wire.  He said the harnesses were the same for US and other models on the bike.  The US got a two pronged flasher and the others got a three pronged where required by the government I guess.  So, the US models will have the extra green wire.  One down, the rest to go, lol.

I just got this OEM POS cable, it has two extra wires.  Wonder if yours has the extra two or just one.

The wire from the positive on the battery that goes to the starter solenoid will have an extra red wire. It goes no where,  You will also have an extra green ( ground wire ).

I am not aware of an extra red/white wire.  Check your wire dia.

If you are talking on the fuse box, it is the bottom one.  Right-click the image> select View Image> Ctrl+ to as large as you need.  Hint: Use heavily on BobbyR's thread!  Nice close-ups!

Thanks

If I remember correctly that extra green wire would have gone to a three prong flasher to be the ground, but they only used two prong flashers in the states so it's just an unsed dead end.  Same goes for the red connection just another unsed dead end.  I believe (without a wiring diagram in front of me) that the other two wires would go to the turn signal flasher, and yes you can get one at any parts store, I would probably say get a thermal one.  I'm not sure if the elecrtonic work with our old bikes.

www.cb750supply.com    $76 shipped.  It was here perty quick.

Clean all the remaining connectors.  kingcustomcycle said to polish them.  I used a dremel with a wire wheel.  They came up nice.  dielectric grease when you put them back together.  The female one you can use a Q tip and contact cleaner.  I was told when they go together, there should be a snap.

The PO thrashed my harness in the triangle.  Was not worth trying to fix it.

FWIW

The "solid state" flasher Raef mentioned must be what some of us call an "Electronic Flasher". Any auto parts store - $10 range. They'll have 2 and 3 "prong" units. (I'm using a 3 and use the "extra" green wire since the 550 was wired that way when I got it.)

They work great on these ol' bikes and will flash incandescents, LED's or a combination of both at the correct intervals. Likely (not sure) take less elec power to operate [?]. (Two-Tired knows.)
