on my partner's bike!
So far I have sweated through 2 tee shirts, doing it bare chested now!
like she had this tiny weeny little bitty oil leak from her shifter seal and it HAD to be fixed!
To fix the seal on an 82 GSX400 you have to remove half the left hand side of the motor then tear the right hand side including the clutch to bits.
Once you have removed all that you find you do not have the correct tool for removing seals (is there one?) and so you chip and grip and tear pieces off the old one and then by some miracle the bugger comes out!
Tap in the new one, rebuild the lower casings, add oil, adjust the drive chain just cos the tools are out and the new chain has finally started to get some slack in it.
Readjust the clutch and there you have it, a whole afternoon spent in searing heat when all you really wanted to do was sit on the couch with an ice cold beer!
Tomorrow while she is at work I'm going to take it for a nice long thrash in the hills ha ha ha ha ha......
