If I use a CB750 rim?...
« on: January 02, 2011, 11:24:36 AM »
If I used a 2.15" rear rim from a cb750 on my '74 cb550, will the spoke lengths be the same as the standard cb550 rim's spokes would be?

Since the spokes connect to the rim at it's center, it would be the rim's diameter that would determine the spoke length.  I'm pretty sure both hubs use a 4x10 (40 spoke) pattern, so that shouldn't be an issue.

What I would worry about is interference with the rear brake stay if you are putting it on the rear.

If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

Thanks guys.

I was planning on making a nice looking brake stay arm anyway, but I am only putting a 120 on.
