'77 cb750f2 cafe project
« on: January 13, 2011, 06:24:26 PM »
This is my winter project. I started ripping it apart back in september so it doesn't look like this anymore. It in a million pieces but I wanted to post an official project on the forums. I want to thank everyone who has given me advice and help so far. Updates to come. The engine will be hopefully be completed in the next couple of weeks. Until then thanks everyone.

O yea. Picked this baby up for free,  ;D you should have seen the smile on my face although it was not running.

Those are called "knock pins" check out the CB750F manual and parts fiche for exactly where they go.

yea, i only have 4. :'(. got to find some more.

I am reading the "F Supplement" for the Factory Service Manual right now.  It specifically notes that the 77 only has 4 of these, not 8 like previously.

Here is a link, the F2 section starts on page 25 and mentions this on 30: http://data.sohc4.net/HSMCB750F.pdf

Another F rejoins the land of the living and nothing will get a project started like a free bike either! Good luck and look forward to seeing the results.

That should answer the ring question.
Dont forget to stagger them accordingly.

Kenny, I am with Masterchief, spend the extra $ and get new rings. But first Hone the barrels. You can grab a honing tool for $20
