i have since replaced that header/muffler with a Kerker, think I much prefer the sound of the THRUSH over the Kerkker.

This is the one I am going to use... Should fit nicely on the bike, and I am going to experiment with some additional baffling. I already put a baffle in the header using a trick I learned @ MMI. Didn't do much more than take out the harsher raspy tone, but that was way better than it was. Hoping I can get this done soon. Looking forward to seeing if it works.

Got my glass pack this morning. Came home for lunch and tested it holding it up to the header. It is a noticeable difference with just the glass pack, but I am putting the washer in the end to give it a little extra baffling. Much quieter at idle but still sounds real nice @ around 5k. Before and after videos should be up this evening!

something like this?walker straight through muffler $58.

it sounds like any exspensive bike muffler you can buy,even after a long hard uphill ride you can touch the outside,those hotdogs will get bloody hot.

Yeah that muffler looks nice. Got the glass pack welded on... I will say this, that muffler shop doesnt consider welding an art. I knew i would have to grind and sand and paint it to look good, but they didnt make it any easier for me! It sounds nice, quiet at idle, but still sounds real nice(but not deafening) 4500+. I'll post those videos when I get home from work...

Will be doing some grinding and sanding and painting this weekend, but all in all not a bad muffler for $60 total cost!

You can get chrome reverse meggas made by folks like EMGO for like $35. It would be WAY lighter and actually tone that sucker down. But like said before, it's your bike. 4 LBS for a muffler is overkill IMO.

I've used those cheapo chrome megaphones before mate, and the only advantage that I can see is that they're cheap. Otherwise, they're junk. Cheers, Terry.

I honestly havent got to ride it much since I put the pipe on. Doesn't seem to rev as fast, but I can feel the torque improvement. Looking forward to putting some miles on her when it warms up a little. And I don't think the 4lb muffler has near the effect on handling as the 270lb rider! Still hang the old girl over pretty good though.

Hi Terry, that was the general idea.
Bracket was something I threw on real quick as I could get a dyno run done for free.
I still haven't done it but I'm going to weld up a tubular mounting similar to racing Triumph/Norton Commando or, maybe make an aluminium one similar to the front brake torque arm extension I made

It's a CB350 drum I modified (polished, drilled some holes, painted, vented, etc)
Yamaha XS650 18 X 2.15 (WM3 rim), Suzuki Katana 600 forks I spent way too long polishing
I'm going to make a stainless steel yoke to replace the rusty one.
Gues I'll update my project thread.
