Are you staying downtown? You could go to the Sticky Wicket pub in the Strathcona Hotel on Douglas St. ttp://www.strathconahotel.com/the_sticky_wicket_pub___restau.html We've enjoyed the food there. You won't want to be there at closing, too many young guys after too many beers and testosterone. Another good pub is the Bard & Banker on Government St.
http://www.bardandbanker.com/
They often have live music. It is a bit touristy but the Royal Museum is a great place to spend a couple of hours. Good walk on the breakwater. We have enjoyed the Rum Runner pub in Sidney as well, about 20 kms. north of Victoria. For a louder venue the Days Inn on Bellvue, just west of the Parliament Building often has a live band in the bar. if it's a sunny day the Inner Harbour area is very nice.
Hope this helps a bit. Cliff.

Fery from Port Angles, Anacortes or Tsawwassen? Or private yacht? Cliff.

Damn Cliff, doesn't look like I'll make it this time. Port call was canceled due to current operations.
We may be doing a bike trip up that way this summer though.....
