I got the parts in yesterday (Saturday), but am headed out of town for work for a week. I'll get these built up when I get back. I sent out 6 this week, so some of you are covered.

Well, here it is: I made the pattern for the baseplate and built and installed one on a 1977 750F for the example. I think the wires are a bit too long, so the next ones will be a little shorter.

It's going to be about $40 for a unit (plus shipping). Each one comes as a 4-position holder, with 3 positions used and a spare 15 Amp fuse in the unused position. The fuses are 15, 7.5 and 5 amp: if you have a CB550F I think the stock 5 amp one is 2.5 amp, but no matter, it will work fine. It plugs and bolts straight into the old fuseholder's spot: just unhook your battery first to avoid electrical sparks while changing this fuseblock. 

It sure brightened up the lights on this 750! The lamps were seeing about 10.6 volts before I changed out the grungy old fuseholder, now they see 12.0 volts at the taillight bulb.

Below is a picture of the stock 750F, the fuseholder (and an old one) and the final installed unit. If you need higher-resolution pictures, e-mail me: mgparis@concentric.net (which is also my Paypal).

I should have some assembled by next week. Like the Ignitions, each sale here will generate $1 back to SOHC4. These will also appear on my website as soon as we get it operational.

I'd love one, as long as you could provide me with a place to buy the connector for the bike harness.  I need to rewire my '72 750K2 anyway so it would be nice to have part of the work done (not like there won't still be a lot with adding relays and stuff).

I am sending them out with the mating connector for the harness, in case the old one on the bike is in bad shape.

hey Hondaman, is the 77 750F the same as the 76 750F?  if not, I gotta see if I can find the one I took out of BABY.  in the process of building a whole new harness for her 1 wire at a time.  will have to come up with the 40 bucks and shipping.

hey Hondaman, this is whats left of the stock fusebox out of my 76 CB750F..not at all the same as the 77.  All 5 of the fuses were live, no spares.  and a fused AUX at the very bottom off what I believe was the main fuse.

edit:   THE BOTTOM IS A FUSED AUX....THERE WAS ALSO A SPARE.  THE CONFUSION IS THE ORAGE WIRE THAT USED TO GO TO IT.  ONLY ORANGE WIRE THAT WAS EVER ON MY BIKE WENT TO TURN SIGNALS.

AFAIK, all of the 3-fuse SOHC4 bikes will take the same fuseholder and connector (and, I think also the CB/CL450/500T after 1973, not dead sure about this one, though). I'm supplying the receiving connector (for the harness) with each one, in case the bike's is in bad shape, too.

That looks like the fuseblock from a much later bike (VFR?). Interesting that the mounting holes fit!

well now that sheds some light on it.  no wonder this poor BABY been having problems sine I bought her.  Have had my suspicions about the harness as well not being 750 harness....now mebbe it all makes sense.  I have begun on the new harness, will get progress pics eventually.

how about a kick-switch circuit breaker panel? replacing fuses can be a #$%*. I'd rather flip a switch than have to buy fuses :D

The biggest issue with circuit breakers is their [lack of] waterproofing. A typical resettable waterproof breaker starts at about $45. Each. And, they are huge, in terms of space needed on a motorcycle. Cole-Hersee has made self-resetting breakers for automotive applications for years, but they are not waterproof (or even resistant) and are notorious for failing after a couple of cycles. They sell for about $25 each in quantities of 25 or more at the 15 amp size, and come in 5 or 10 amp increments (5/10/15/20/30/40/50 amps).

So, I gave up on that approach, years ago.  :(

The fit was perfect. I opted to install the female connection Mark sent along as my main hot was a bit frail and had some corrosion. I used some dielectric grease to aid in getting the male/female connection to mate. You will not have to worry about it coming unconnected. It is a tight fit. Thanks Mark.

Mine looks almost the same Johnie! I installed it yesterday and took it for a ride - works for me ;)

Only thing Id mention is the 2 8mm bolts that hold it on are hidden behind those orange wires at the side - so require bending them out the way. Not a huge thing but I was concerned about "breaking" the contact point. But its very well made so probably no fear of that! Second small point - I used my original connector from the harness and noticed there is no latch on the Hondaman module to mate with the original. But as Johnie said its a tight fit and probably wont come apart. However it reminds me of the F2 plastic connectors at the ignition that do come apart and so for peace of mind Ill add a cable tie to hold them together.

Aside from these 2 very very small points its a great thing to upgrade to! Anyone who wants to upgrade to car fuses easily and with no fuss should buy this!
