I thought there might be some interest in the costs for various segments of a building project. What does it cost to take a part as found and turn it into something presentable for a 'bike build'?

Here is a set of wheels from a late model 550K. So I started off with that set of wheels:

Then you add this:

Sand blasting and power coat 2 rims: $40
1 set of rear spokes, E-Bay: 55
1 set of front spokes, Buckanons 125
2 sets All Balls bearings 60
2 Tubes 25

Do you have any before and after pictures and are you willing to share the cost to get your parts 'from that to this'?

When I totaled the cost of my GIXXER build, I wished I hadn't. I advise against keeping track, unless you are billing someone. Still love the bike, tho.
