« on: February 28, 2011, 03:49:18 PM »
Are the front forks and forks and tubes the same for a 1975 as they are on the 1977 CB550K?

Let me know ASAP.

Thanks

There are internal differences with the forks...But as far as I know if you have a pair of each you could swap them ...externally do the 75 have gators(boots) as the 77 do not so the fork ears will be different..

You can see the differences here     http://www.motogrid.com/pages/parts/viewbybrand/7/honda.aspx

I am going to be replacing the Headlight brackets anyway, thats what you mean by fork ears right?  No biggy there... just need to make sure they are the same length and are interchangeable.

The fork assemblies are different between those years.  But, you can swap the entire fork assemblies between those two years.

The triple tree interface and overall length was maintained, even though there are subtle differences between them.

Awesome!  Thanks!  Purchased them for $100 for the whole assemble fender, brake caliper, dust covers, right hand control, and master cylinder...  and they look awesome!  No rust at all even where they usually have it at the top of the fork tubes where the headlight brackets go!  I think this was a pretty good purchase.
