Immmmmm BAAAAAACKKK!!!!!!!
« on: March 03, 2011, 02:08:57 PM »
Hey guys...i know its been awhile again. I tend to dart in and out at times. Was having too much fun riding last year for once! It seems like my motivation to ride and be involved with motorcycles again has finally reawakened! I have a few plans for the Interceptor that i will keep close to vest for now. I also made a deal on an old Kawasaki KZ400 this morning that will be joining the collection plus im working on a deal for a Honda NX125. Now heres where you guys come in...i have the need...the need for another SOHC CB!!!!!! Since i never did get to ride my CB750 or my CB550. I never really got to enjoy either. The only CB SOHC bike i have ridden to this day is an '80 CB650. Now what im asking for is recommendations for the next CB project. I plan on buying one sometime this summer at earliest and by fall at the latest. So help me relearn about these bikes guys! Which version of the CB750 would everyone suggest?

Lol It would be preferable to find a runner but eh. If i do get another one i will probably be doing a mild Cafe conversion to it. meaning i would be doing the handlebars, different light set up and possibly rear sets but not the seat unless i got an after market pan and made a fairly thick memory foam seat for it.

Welcome back man!

Do you want to do a stock or chopped 750 and how much do you plan on spending?

Spill the beans about what you plan on doing with the interceptor, inquiring minds want to know.

I get the feeling i knew you under a different name before my unintentional hiatus, But anyways as for the plans for the Interceptor....hmmm where to start lol....

Finish wiring in the surface mount signal lights that are replacing the messed up LP front signals..The LPs were messed up long ago thus the need for replacement.
Replace the upper triple clamp with a custom made one that is drilled for handle bar risers to mount super bike bars and relocate the fuse box.
CBR wheel upgrade front and rear,
CBR rear shock
Upgraded front forks.

As for what i plan on doing with said CB...Im probably gonna set it up more like a street fighter rather then a Cafe. I will post of a Suzuki GS that is set up in the style im looking towards. I plan on redoing my GS850 in a similar style as well.

I do have a few ideas. That previous pic is just one example of one direction i could go, that would require a bit of changes to the chassis due to it being the Cruiser. Had i known about that when i had the chance to get that GS1100 GK i would have def gone that way with it lol. But anyways theres a chance im probably gonna mix streetfighter and bobber styling on this...

Ultimately i will probably wind up with something more like whats in the pics above.

Well I would do a 750 if only for the wider availability of parts compared to the other models and the lower average cost of parts.
