I've been working on the carbs the last few days.. lots of soaking, soda blasting, sanding, polishing and powder coating. No internals yet but they're looking good. I'm gonna order the carb kits tomorrow.

I got my seat back... still waiting for my chain tensioner from Lowbrow....ugh! been over a month.  Bought it feb 21 via ebay, notified feb 22 it was shipped, got concerned last week and email them, apparently it didn't ship until Mar 3. of course its the last major fab parts I need.

Cool build! The stance of the bike looks great, although I could never fit on these kind of bikes! I rode a buddies around the other day and rested my arms on my knees to ride it.  Fun scoot though!

I really like the black and gold scheme, but I don't like the gold frame. With your bike, the frame is almost more prominent than your tins. Choose wisely on your frame color or it will take over the look of the bike.

Yah.. I'm 6'3".. it fits me nice.

Thats a good point about the frame being too prominent, Gold might stand out alittle too much.  First option was blk frame, blk lower cases, gold cylinder, polished engine covers, blk tins with gold inserts.

I'm 6'4"! Looking at yours, you have your seat set back a bit further.

I think that color combo would really pop, and not be overdone. Personally, I think keeping the gold to a minimum on the tins would look classy. Maybe even some gold leaf. The rear fender/cowl is yelling for some pinstriping and you can even add minimal striping/leaf to the frame to pull it all together. Dunno, just thinking out loud.

I think we have a winner! I was thinking about a gold race number on the rear cowl too...  No problem getting some pinstriping laid down, building 2 motors for a buddy who pinstripes and he owes me...ahaha. Gotta love the barter system.

Before heading back to work out west.. guess what?? THE FRAME ARRIVED!!!

The specs are 4" in the backbone, -1" downtube, 36 degree rake, goosenecked, and a 2" rear standard stretch. I also had them use their 20mm vintage style axle plates.

I had myself a roller a few hours later...

What does the 20mm refer to here? Axle diameter?

Damn nice looking bike by the way. Would be good to see some shots of you ON the bike - I'm 6'7" so it'd be handy to see how the frame suits your frame.....! :D

Just saw this thread, Great looking bike!  Your frame is more noticeable than most but I think a frame color other than black would be awesome.  What about a bronze color?  something not as "flashy" as gold, but still along those lines?  Or an "antique" bronze?

Just my 2 cents.  What ever color you go with, the Bike will look awesome.  Good job!

Yes.. 20mm is the dia of a cb750 rear axle. They re 3/4 inch think...heavy duty.

Good looking build. I can really appreciate the fab work and effort. Good job. I really like the frame. As for colors, its hard to go wrong with black but a different color frame would look killer.

the antique bronze would look really good with black and brushed/polished aluminum.... I like it.

I never know what color my stuff is going to be until I have paint in the gun. Even then, I'm prone to re-paint if I don't agree with my choice. I have been sure of the color I'm going to paint my 78F at least 10 times now! ;D

Hey, Thanks, I sent the seat to Jerry Brady owner of Got it Covered in Ottawa ONT. He's got a website. He also did my cafe seat.. he does good work although his customer service this time around wasn t the best but we all have our days I suppose.

On account of my pinched nerve and taking it easy, I was hanging out with a buddy of mine today. I went along with him to our local auto paint store and ended up with a gold pearl sample in some binder. Painted a few peices of pipe with base he had laying around. Here are my favs..

first three are black base coat, 2 with light and heavy on the gold pearl, another with a dusting of silver base aswell

4th is  electric blue base, and gold pearl

5th is red base with the gold pearl.

Those are top notch colors!  The very first one is pretty much what I was envisioning when I said "antique bronze".  who knew?  Do you have a preference yet?

HAHAH the first is our favroite too... too funny. It looks black in low light but reflects a ton of sun light. looks brown/root beerish in sunlight. I think the black and gold engine with that color on the frame and maybe the tins would look sharp. alittle gold graphic on the tank and cowel maybe. I have somethign in mind... maybe I'll draw it up
