How much would this be worth ,in running condition . I see a sandcast frame and engine on ebay now for 1000$ but a complete running sandcast ,how much would that bring .Obviously ballparkish . If there is any interest PM me take trades too of all sorts.

Yea, I noticed that. Seller has a good rating and a bunch of sales so I will give him the benefit of doubt. I think he is just ignorant of what a Sandcast is.

Not very many. There were only 7414 made in the whole world and that was about 42 years ago. They do show up as "Barn Finds" occasionally only because someone parked it years ago. But they are getting more rare as time passes. In my opinion if someone is riding a sandcast they have to be maintaining it, meaning they have to be trying to find parts for it. They would have learned a long time ago what it was.

Bator International and most of the buyers did not recognize the "parts-bike" they auctioned for less than $2000 at the Barber Vintage Festival last October. A middle numbered sandcast motor and chasis!!!

One of our members paid $10,000 plus shipping for a garage find last year. It was a complete bike.

A friend has a clean motor for sale ........asking $3500

IMO, and on the off chance it is actually a sandcast, the fact that it's currently running has little to do with the value to someone who's looking to buy a complete, if not mint condition, sandcast.

fat chance Bender! I got his under lock and key , I'll be sure to let you all know how it turns out though. I know odds are long but that is what makes it exciting. It's rare but it happens, Be at the right place at the right time .......Say it was a late 69 what is that a diecast? what are they worth . I think I might be the butt of a joke for some old fart maybe . still , you kinda gotta take something like this well, you at least gotta investigate till the dead end for curiousities sake!

No, this is not the same guy. The bad seller person is Appleton Cycle on Appleton St. in Milwaukee. This seller is located in Appleton, WI.

Well , it is a 69' early diecast. running - what is this worth .Guy wants to trade for my rd350 .... if it brought more than 2k at auction I might be tempted. I dont think I could afford to ride that bike daily and dont know if I should. Certainly it has to be rare. Check out the lights! the tank exhaust and side covers look pretty good as well as guages. Looks like the same tanks<sidecovers off a sand cast.

Oh my.. someone really made some poor restyling choices there. Still, looks like it wouldn't take a lot to bring it back to original. I'd trade 2 RDs and a R1 for that bike.. then sell it and use the $ to buy a K2 for every day of the week.

just asking a question that no one seems to want to answer.
I am not a restorer and have no interesting in having a bike that I cant afford parts for .
Phil , the seat and headlight are pretty sad... not to mention those apes. At your estimate that bike would be worth almost 6 grand . RD350 's sell around here for right around 2 grand all day. Does anyone honestly feel that bike to be worth 6 grand? Just looking for some good information. Also if I pass , I might would pass the info as to it's where abouts on to the right person..... it is not listed anywhere publicly and I am pretty certain I am the only one that knows about it .

Well, you need to answer some questions yourself before you know what it is worth.

With these early K0s the serial number is important, for example, non sandcast bikes can share a lot of the same rare, hard to find parts as sandcasts. Get the serial number, for the frame, AND the engine.

*HOW* does it run. I have bought pieces of crap and had them running in a few hours, that did not mean that they were ready to ride or even ran well. I saw no mention of MILEAGE, there is a big difference in price for 10k and 70k miles just like any other vehicle!

You can get a bit of a premium for a K0 over other models, with all factors being equal. I've seen RESTORED K0s go up to 14.5k but that was fully restored. Total teardown, repaint, polishing, rechroming, and a NOS parts laundry list longer than this response. If you were to buy all the parts you needed to restore the bike pictured NOS you would be lucky to break even.

If it were a sandcast all bets would be off and it would be worth the 6k easy. Since it is not, it is probably arguable about whether it is worth 2k. It is hard to tell from your story and the pictures, there is a lot that is unseen and unheard. It all depends on the condition of this stuff. Parts may look good but when you gotta put the part up on ebay and disclose every dent, scratch, and imperfection you start to realize you don't have something that is going to fetch a premium like you've seen on ebay maybe.

Summary: Insufficient info. Estimate: 1k-1.5k

I think Harisuluv gave a pretty good estimate based on the fact that it is a die cast and other variables that could affect value such as wrinkle tank, fenders,controls aka black kill,key switch,etc are still yet unknow.More good parts more money.
