fork rebuild cost
« on: March 14, 2011, 08:15:48 AM »
So I was thinking about redoing my forks, new tubes($150)springs($80)seals($8),I'm thinking not too bad at $240.I was talking too my other motorcyclist friends with all kinds of bikes, and most agree that that is a good deal.My forks have the typical pitting under the ears.Or I could just do new springs and seals for a $100 and call it a day.
its better to regret something you have done, than something you havent.Except playing with explosives.

how do the insides look? If all the internals are in good shape and the pitting is not horrid, I would be tempted to stay with your old tubes. I guess the question is, will the new tubes offer an improvement?

If you're gonna roll with the stock headlight ears & gaiters, you won't even see the rust.

Thats the only thing my bike is missing to make it stock, the headlight ears.Mine is a mild custom anyway,if I ever sell it I would make it stock, but I am not ever going to sell it
