Check out your research tax dollars at work! This is some serious technology. Just about make us obsolete... Who needs an airbag like the new Goldwing, this thing has automatic outrigger training wheels!

That was one of the entries in the robot chalange. I think only 5 made it to the finish line, but thats 5 more then last year. Stanford Univerity got the $2 Million price for being the first robot to navigate all by itself over a cross country course.

Yep, it was shown in part on a PBS NOVA feature last week on the Grand Challenge. It is a shame, 'casue at the time I was really rooting for them to at least finish the course.
